1892.  1st Edn,.  Longmans Green and Co.  xviii 194 pages, TEGlarge folio, limited to 255 copies this being numbered 63. Illustrated with 40 full page plates and, numerous illustrations in the text reproduced from the drawings by the author, the title page printed in red and black. Recently finely bound in a half dark green morroco spine gilt double ruled to compartments cloth side with the large gilt vignette of a stag and dog in a mountain scene used in the original binding relayed on the front board. A very good copy of the most important and beautifully produced book on Scottish stalking. Crealock describes the natural history, the abuse of deerhounds, red deer, the horns, stalking, the stalking grounds etc. And relates stories of twenty-two years of deer stalking on the deer forests of Scotland. A book often found in poor condition due to its size and weight with the plates often foxed. [23172]

2009.  1st thus.  David A H Grayling.  Shap.  84 pp, Landscape 4to illustrated in colour and b/w from sketches and paintings by Crealock. Limited to 300 copies this being number 7 of which only 24 are bound in full plum Morocco with an original vignette drawing by Ian Oates. A fine copy Crealock's previously unpublished sketches and watercolours, forming a diary account of time spent deer stalking in 1882 and 1884 at Anhuinnsuidhe. Anhuinnsuidhe is a sporting estate on the Isle of Lewis. There are also other sketches and paintings of red deer and their antlers from other sources. This is followed by a three-page history of the Crealock family. There is also a 3-page introduction by Hon Robert Eden. A fine copy of a well-produced and finely bound record. Also included is the original prospectus and a letter from the publisher, and a memoir of the artist Ian Oates who died in 2010. [23243]
