103+ pages, 4to., illus throughout the text, a fine copy in the transparent wrapper, limited to 400 copies. A journal of a sporting season in Achanalt Ross-shire from leaving Euston Station in August 1885 to the last entry on December 21st followed by "deaths 1885", days recorded all have illustrations for the days of sport etc., The book is dedicated to "Mistress Bignold" by Lancelot Speed, the estate was owned by Mary's father Sir Arthur Bignold, it is thought Mary inherited the estate on his death in 1915. First published privately in 1886.
