IX 129 pages, 8 plates of flies, foxing to contents, occasional pencil notes relating to flies to margin, armorial bookplate of T.W.Edwards to front past down with his name and date 1854, neatly written to upper margin of title page, also neatly written on title page contemporary name in ink by Michael Theakston and copy of a review of the book to lower margin, original green cloth unevenly fading to cloth, pink paper title labels to upper boards, published anonymously when Theakston was 68. Theakston was born in Ripon and spent most of his life in the area, the book was a result of a lifetime in angling, the drawings of the natural insects in the book were drawn from nature by his daughter.
