Contemporary ownership name to inner front blank and repeated on upper blank margin of preface Publishers emerald, blue binding with title in gilt and black with crossed guns vignette in gilt with a wildfowl scene to the upper cover, the spine with title soldier vignette, and gun breech, in gilt. Some light rubbing to corners small 1.5cm split to top rear edge of the spine. An attractive binding, a book seldom found in good condition, the text is heavy and often pulls away from the binding.
