Small folio, New title page with limitation page and introduction by Major Ian Grahame. Limited to 150 numbered copies this being number 95, ownership book plate to front paste down. The facsimile Illustrated with, twelve coloured plates with accompanying text relating to each bird. with the original title page, and preface. Top edge gilt pages uncut. Finely bound in half green morroco. In the publisher's card slipcase, some fading to the slipcase with some abrasion marks to one side. Thorburn's 'Birds of Prey' was published in a portfolio of 150 copies with 12 prints of British raptors signed by Thorburn with descriptive text and an introduction by Hugh.S. Gladstone. Few sets of the original portfolio now survive, many copies having the prints separated for framing.
