xiv, 510 pages, TEG, xlv adverts, 4to., illus with 8 full page colour plates of flies + text and other illustrations, some spotting to the prelims and half title and the title page and last few pages of the adverts the rest of the contents and plates free of spottinm. Very occasional contemporary pencil notes to blank margins. Publishers' maroon cloth with gilt title and salmon fly to upper cover within black ruled borders, gilt title and fly to spine, spine evenly faded the front and rear covers unfaded. A monumental work with description of around 300 flies.
