iv 252 pages, large 4to, all edges gilt, illustrated with 60 fine hand-coloured plates of game birds and wildfowl, some very occasional spotting to the text, and plates, the colouring bright and fresh, bookplate of Johannis Hus to the front paste down. Finely bound by Bickers and Son in a half dark red morroco, marbled paper covered board within two ruled borders, the spine with 5 raised bands in 6 compartments with title and author to two compartments, the remaining with central floral tooling within ornate decorative corner pieces, and double ruled borders, the date to the foot of the spine. The binding in fine condition. An excellent copy of the first edition. Showing each species which has a coloured plate and description of its habits,
