Grogan and Sharp embarked on one of the most perilous trecks in Africa from the Cape of Good Hope to Cairo on foot. Cecil Rhodes wrote in the introduction Grogan a youth from Cambridge during his vocation should have succeeded in doing that which the ponderous explorers of the world have failed to accomplish.
