Armorial bookplate Rothschild to the front paste down, apart from some spotting to the frontis and title page. Publishers binding with 2 standing natives printed in white and black with title on a yellow background, the rear cover with similar yellow inlay with a crowned crane vignette in white and black on black cloth the spine black cloth with gilt title, a very good copy. Covers all aspects on the area history geology, European settlers, the natural history the zoology includes game animals, natives etc all with excellent illustrations. A very good + copy in the original later editions appeared in a plain cloth binding.
