164 pages, With loose folded (4pp) addendum sheet. Large 8vo finely illustrated with colour photographs throughout showing the guns in detail, old prints, and documents etc. Publishers red cloth with gilt title to the upper cover in DJ, a fine + copy. Limited to 200 copies this being number 45 with a presentation note signed "James (the author)" also a loose compliment slip from Jackson. The author originally worked at H.M Tower of London where he received training to become the Queens Armourer a position he held for nearly 45 years. "Little is known about the London Gunmaker Richard Fenton, but it is agreed made particularly good flintlock firearms in a distinctive style that is easily recognized". The author has discovered considerable new information on the Fenton's guns and their history.
