Presentation inscription from the author to the half title. Bound in a later sprinkled half calf'. Gives detailed instructions on the loading presenting and firing of the musket, with excellent line drawings showing the preparing loading and firing. The illustrations are by Sir Robert Ker Porter (1777-1842), who became famous for his paintings of historical military scenes. Not recorded in Riling.
