xv 415 pages, small 4to, numerous full page illus from photographs, 2 folding maps 1 contained in rear pocket with loose printed card stating the map is "not ready and may be months before it is" inscription to the front-end paper. Publishers. light green cloth with gilt shield vignette to the upper cover, the cloth clean and bright in the original dj, dj complete with old strengthening to verso to the head and tail of spine and one-fold not visible from the front. Limited to 750 numbered copies, this copy number 366 signed by Cook and dated June 12, 1945. Cook was Consultant Physician to the European Kampala Hospital and to the C.M.S. Mango Hospital, he devoted much of his time to the health and condition of the local natives. There are chapters on safari life 1897, Safari in the eastern provinces, and other episodes of big game, and the history and development of the colony.
