A Mid-19th century photograph 25cm x 20cm laid down on card, showing a young angler fishing from a ford to his right is a crossing or weir? There is a gentleman wearing a black jacket and top hat seated on a fence watching the boy. With a background of bushes and trees and a meadow, In the far distance can be seen the spire of Salisbury Cathedral. Old pencil notes to lower blank margin of the card "Salisbury Wilts" no other identifying marks circa 1870. Some light dust soiling a few chips to the card edge.
