118 pages, 4to., red stapled card covers with elephant sketch on front wrap, some light fading. the second of the Train Safaris the first was in 1956. Train recounts his elephant hunting trip to the Region of lake Tana, then onto the Forest near Mount Kenya after Bongo (which he missed). there are many observations on wildlife and the people of the area. Prompted by his safaris to East Africa to conserve African wildlife and the national habitat, he went onto found the African Wildlife Leadership Foundation in 1961 in the same year World Wildlife Fund was founded and Train became the first vice president for the wrold wildlife fund over more than 3 decades.
