xiii-145 pages, T.E.G pages uncut 4to illustrated with 30 photo-etchings by P.H. Emerson and T.F. Goodall and a large folding plan of Breydon Water. Some spotting to the prelims. Occasional spotting to a few plates at the edges and tissue guards. Recased in the original pictorial blue cloth showing a river scene in black with gilt title. Recent brown leather spine in the style of the original. The edition was originally stated to be 500 copies, but Emerson later wrote that only 300 were ever printed, this is numbered 268. "The simple record of my impressions and experiences, whilst living with my friend T.F. Goodall on his house-boat on Breydon Water in Norfolk". Emerson must be regarded as one of the most important influences in Victorian photography". A keen naturalist and photographer he records country life in Norfolk in his photographs.
