First published in 1918 Noel reprinted this abridged and revised edition in 1940 "to give further impetus to the present military task of making thousands of young soldiers trigger conscious". The Captain Noel was formerly an instructor in revolver shooting, Riling 1865 lists the 1918 edition but not this edition, only 3 copies located in U.K libraries of this edition.
