Bound in gilt decorated burgandy bonded leather in publishers card slipcase a fine set limited to 1000 sets this being a presentation set from John Batten to Malcolm Lyell with a personal inscription to him. Also signed by the publisher and artist Gordon Allen and Jim Rikhoff, publisher. There is also a loose letter from Batten to Lyell on a book flyer. The book covers. An anthology of 40 sheep hunting stories by 35 authors, a 9-pp bibliography and list with illustrations of the authors guns. . Malcolm Lyell (1922-2011), a hunter, an adventurer and manager of Westley Richards London showrooms he had many connections and friendships with big game hunters of the day.
