Summary:
19.5 cm x 16cm engraved trade label, showing faint centre fold crease. A very good example with plate mark. Manton's address is 6 Holles Street Cavendish Square London, Gun Maker To His Majesty. Neal and Back in there major work (1967) on the Manton's notes Joseph Manton and Son moved to Holles Street this was their final address 1834 - 1838 in the book they describe and illustrate the trade labels Manton used "The last label used was a small one with on it ,Joseph Manton & Sons 6 Holles Street "etc This label not illustrated and differs to this one in size and having Sons added. This label does appear and illustrated in David Backs 1993 revised edition.
