Summary: 2 Vols, xxxvi 203 pages, all Edges Gilt, small folio, illus with 41 fine colour plates drawn from nature by A.F. Lydon, numerous woodcut chapter headings of river scenes, and illustrations in the text. Publishers' pebbled brown cloth bevelled edges, with central gilt fishing scene within gilt and black ruled borders, fishing vignetters in black to the corners of the upper cover. The spine with gilt and black decorations Occasional light spotting to tissue guards and some spotting to first and last page o/w contents clean with no spotting to the plates. The covers are bright and clean with some very light rubbing to head and tail of spine, a vg+ copy of a fine example of Victorian book production at its best. a title seldom found in such good condition. The colour plates are particularly fine examples of the fishes.
