38 -8 -(2) Errata slip, interleaved with blank pages, coloured map of Isle of Jura detailing places, forest, sheep, acreage. One of the blank pages has a note written in ink on Islay deer. To the front paste down, armorial bookplate of J.A. Harvie Brown (Scottish ornithologist and naturalist) . Publishers slate blue cloth with gilt title to the upper board within gilt ruled borders and blind stamped decorations, light rubbing to the head of spine. A rare title privately printed which was reprinted in a facsimile limited edition in 1993, using this copy for the facsimile. This is the only copy I have seen of the original it was purchased in the early 1990s at Sotheby's sale which included books from the Harvie Brown estate. Covers deerstalking, with an in depth record and information on the age and mortality of stags, hinds and calves, fertility, populations, culling, weights, numbers of deer shot, etc.
