Near contemporary ? dark green morroco with gilt sporting motifs to spine compartments, some light rubbing to edges vg. This copy contains the 8 page Sportsman's Progress a poem descriptive of the pleasures derived from field sports. With wood engraved vignettes above and below the poem. Schwerdt notes "this is generally missing, and the work is incomplete without it". The book covers most aspects of field sports including, the gun, powder and shot, loading, cleaning and use.
