l 416 pages, AEG, 14 full page engraved plates and 77 woodcuts in the text, spotting to frontis and title page and some spotting to the plates and age browning to contents, armorial bookplate of "Richard William" to front paste down, bound in full crushed morroco, Walton device to front and rear board, gilt rubbed away, gilt ruled borders with floral corner pieces, spine in 5 compartments, 2 with fish, and one with Walton initials. the binding is identical; to a large paper edition which we have that came from the Hazelwood Collection that noted the binding as Lewis, possibly Charles Lewis, he was one of the leading London binders of the period 1786-1836. The binding has rubbing to edges and chipping to head and tail of spine, the gilt tooling is very much in the style of Gosden, also includes a typed letter on The Fishing Gazette headed paper signed by R.L.Marston, the letter notes that it is wrong to describe the book as a second edition.
