viii 293 (8) pages of publishers advs. engraved frontis of an angler landing a fish + 135 woodcut illus of various fishes within the text, bound in a fine circa 1890- full speckled calf by Tout, spine in six compartments, contrasting label with 2 fish and fly decorations within decorated borders, gilt triple ruled frame to boards with decorative corner pieces. Small chip to head of spine. Dr Brookes was Rector of Ashney in Northants. The 1766 edition is said to have been revised by Mosses Browne. W/S 42/43
