72 pages, advs, 10 hand coloured plates representing 120 natural and artificial flies, a vg copy in original green cloth, gilt title within ornate fishing decorated frame, large amorial bookplate of Lionel Creswell Burley in Wharfdale. This edition has a 15 page addendum by John E Miller, Miller states that the 2nd and 3rd editions had a serious fault in the colouring of the flies which he pointed out to the publishers, the result being this edition has a facsimile reproduction of the 1st edition, an important work on the north country fly.
